A man was sentenced to prison recently for violating a state lien that stemmed from a law designed to protect housing projects and the building of them in the state of New York. The defendant had asked for leniency in the judgment and his lawyer had suggested that putting the man away in jail would make it impossible for him to come up with the eighty two thousand dollars awarded in a civil judgment against the defendant. The money was awarded due to the fact that the defendant hadn't paid his contractors for work that was done on a house.

It would appear that there has been a significant amount of blame thrown around in arguments over a city in Alabama which has been forced to declare bankruptcy as a result of things like toxic bonds and a credit crisis that struck the county.
