One of the biggest sources of waste in a hotel is the use of a different set of towels each day and by providing residents of a hotel new towels every day there is a lot of extra water that's being used by the hotel to keep those towels clean. A new practice in many NYC hotel accommodation sites is the option to have towels in use for a few days. A towel often isn't dirty after it's used, especially if it's just used as a wrap around a person's head as their hair dries since the hair is already clean.
